I am an Irish multidisciplinary fine artist from Northern Ireland.
I draw from my provincial Cookstown roots, heavily influenced by the stark contrast between my upbringing and recent experiences as a young, queer woman and artist living in Belfast.
My work combines disciplines such as, photography, photographic manipulation using acetone, film, painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture.
In my most recent series, ‘Land of Lonely’, I explore an imaginary place where one tries to understand loneliness. It is a multifaceted series, a hybrid between photography and painting, which encompasses performance, film, sound and a technique I’ve developed, acetone manipulation.
Land of Lonely is a reflective analysis of female queer aloneness whilst living in a city surrounded by people but isolated amid the crowd. This series unmasks my deepest feelings of desolation, anxiety, tiredness, existentialism and loss.
